South Cheshire Astronomical Society (SCASTRO) is dedicated to providing advice, support and encouragement to those people, in and around the South Cheshire Crewe & Nantwich area who have an interest in astronomy and related sciences and technology. There are no limits associated with age or experience - the only pre-requisite is an enthusiasm for the subject!

We are a community none profit organisation run entirely by unpaid member/enthusiast volunteers.

Visit our Society Events page for full details of our regular meetings including location and admission details.
These meetings are held during our annual season, which runs from Sept to April of the next calendar year inclusive; followed by our last club meeting of the season in May which is generally when we hold our AGM. For each month of the September to April period we hold:
a Club Meeting (for all levels of expertise from novice to expert - for observation, discussion, demonstration and mutual learning);
and a Public Talk (presented by highly qualified leading edge research practitioners and accomplished amateurs. These speakers are used to presenting their subjects to mixed level of knowlige audiencies. Questions from the audience are welcomed).

For extra events throughout the year, please see our External Events page.
